The 2009 "Drive responsibly" campaign was organized for second consequtive year by "Open Youth" with the support of "Youth in Action" and Toyota. Eight volunteers of the association visited five Bulgarian cities during ten days and the campaign registered very good results of its initiatives.

The campaign took place between 20th and 30th of May. The period was chosen on purpuse due to the increased probability for road accidents with young people during the gratuation parties.

The total number of participants in the alcokart and the driving simulator is 935 which includes both drivers and passengers. Last year we had nine actions with a total of around 2000 participants. Then there were more people, who wished to participate as passengers while this year people wanted to try the simulations themselves and the number of drivers increased.

The campaign was carried out with the support of the municipalities of Ruse, Veliko Turnovo, Gabrovo, Sliven and Burgas. The citizens of the last mentioned had the opportunity to try for free the simulators. One was showing what it is to drive drunken without drinking, of course, while the other simulated extreme situations on the road.
